WELFARE ACTIVITIES TO THE TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS

“Teenage is a very fragile and difficult phase for both children and their parents. Teenagers are at cross road, they need special

attention.”

In order to create awareness about the problems in teenage and counsel them, Dr.Rajan took special interest and organized several talks and awareness programs for teenagers and their parents.

New generation conference ‘Add wings to youth to fly high

Dr.Rajan organized a New Generation conference involving youth in schools and colleges. The subjects on which the interactions took place were: Health, education, values and career.

The highlights of the conference were:

  • Question-answer session with elders regarding the ‘problems of youth and their solutions’.
  • Three-generation interaction, grandparents, parent-children evokes a lot of response.
  • Around 80 such seminars were held during 1996-97 in Karnataka and Maharashtra. Dr.Rajan guided these seminars.
  • Hon.Shri H.K.Patil, Former Vice-Chancellor M.I.Savadatti and swamijis of various Peethas guided few seminars.

Teenage Problems of Girls

Through the Children’s Academy – an NGO started by Dr.Rajan, a series of talks by lady doctors, sexologists and nutrition experts were conducted at school level and in small groups to dispel the hidden worries of various nature in girl students. More than 5000 students attended these group activities.

Suicides in children

An interesting seminar was held for a large anxious crowd of parents of students studying in 1st and 2nd PUC college. Psychiatrists, psychologists and parents of students who commit suicide were in the panel. This has helped many parents to change their attitudes towards their children and their expectations.
